There is no place in the app to leave feedback (that I could find), also, I can’t use the barcode scanner at all (tried from the Storage screen). I keep getting this error: “Whoops... Barcode scanner is not available when the application is on SplitView or SlideOver mode”. I’m not doing anything of the sort! Update: I updated to iOS 20.0.1 which just came out and this is now fixed 👌

Great potential although unintuitive and confusing at times. - Can’t add url to a product unless it is already in your inventory. - Can’t link a product to multiple stores. So it requires managing same items for different lists at times (and don’t seem to save the metadata for the item so have to reset). - Also some confusion between shopping lists and stores. Usually I create one list for a store, so having both shopping lists and stores feels redundant. If a list item could belong to multiple stores than it might be quite useful and it would let you see where else you buy it. Ideally tracking different prices for each store so you could comparison shop. - Discount needs a percentage and flat rate option — currently only supports dates (which is nice to have). - Also a splash of color to the UI would be a nice touch — like different colored backgrounds and/or accents for each list. - Can’t add a new shopping item to a list on the watch. - Lastly like more operations to be performed from contextual menu. - On the plus side … - Has a nice and working Apple Watch app with complications - A lot under the hood like inventory management, barcode scanning, expiration tracking and recipe storage that some may find useful. - Activiely developed. Watched it grow and continually be enhanced over the years. - Beautiful app icon. On the whole can’t really complain too much because the app is free with tip jar to support development. Hopefully these seeming criticisms will be taken constructively and used to improve the app for future updates. Can’t help but still give it 5 stars, because it’s one of the only decent shopping lists with a well designed Apple Watch apps that lets you switch lists from the watch and doesn’t seem to suffer from slow or unstable iCloud issues many other apps do. Plus again, it’s free. And loaded with other features I’ve yet to fully explore.

Been using the app for over a year to organize 2 freezers. It is a great way to check/manage inventory (including at the grocery store or when planning meals). The trick is anyone adding or removing from the freezer has to update the app to keep it current (user issue). We print the inventory & keep it on the freezer door (in the basement). My one major suggestion is to allow the printing of tag info when printing the inventory. I use tags to denote where to find the item - on what shelf or tub within which freezer. Currently I print the inventory list (which includes quantity, item, & expiration date) & then I hand write the tag info onto the list before I hang it on the freezer. Thank you for a great solution to manage freezer food!

It is the best app for managing groceries with shortcut integration, you can pretty much do anything, send your ingredients to OpenAI to give you quick recipe or ask for what’s running low in my pantry. It’s beautiful and thoughtfully developed app Thank you

This app is awesome and it’s free. It’s so great that I gave the developers a tip which I have never done before. The only thing that I would want would be the ability to download all the products to a CSV file. I use this for my Freeze Dried Food Storage so that I can know what is in each tote. You do have the ability to print out a list for each tote which is awesome!

So far have been enjoying and getting good use tracking several pantries with this well-rounded app! Upon noticing & requesting some missing units of measurement, the developer was responsive and implemented the additions in the following update - which is greatly appreciated. At some point, hopefully users could have customization ability to add/delete units, etc., and I look forward to this app’s continuing improvements!

Currently in the process of logging my pantry and freezers. Find the pantry so far. Very impressed. Especially having a large chest freezer I often “lose” things I “know” are there somewhere. At least if I keep this updated, I will be certain there’s a point to rummaging all the way down to the bottom!! I have also disconcertingly discovered how many cans of stuff I had which were way way out of date. (And also how blooming difficult it is to find the expiry dates sometimes!) Thanks for this great app! One thing which would be handy in a future update would be the option to have NO expiry date - pretty sure things like salt never goes off - nor does honey!!

Every feature is well thought out, great iCloud sync, no direct reliance on a server (product lookups require it of course). The ability to backup to a file is greatly appreciated (and stops the app being a walled garden) and not opting the user into anti-features shows the right attitude.

The App has been very carefully thought out in terms of its extensive integrated functionality, which is intuitive and wonderfully easy to learn and use. Unlike many Apps that manage food products, it does not require signing up to a service and is not driven by recipes, though the products can still be linked to recipe names through tags. For me, these things are very important. By not being directly driven through recipes, it is capable of managing stock and shopping for any household consumable, not just food items, but also, for example, wrappings, laundry products, cleaning products and personal care products. The creation of shopping lists, their use in shop for logging purchased products and then their transfer into stock listings is simple and elegant. The iCloud sharing facility between my devices and my wife’s devices works very well and is very useful, enabling us both to use the same stock and shopping lists. Furthermore, the export and import facilities work incredibly well - I was able to create a CSV file from my old pantry management App and import all 466 products cleanly into FoodShiner, which was a massive time-saver. A truly excellent App for its purpose and, not only that, the support from the developer is excellent too.
